Requirements
- Minimum 5 years commercial underwriting experience, with a focus on the construction segment a plus.
- Must be able to work independently and build strong client and company relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree is desired.
- Must be deemed to effectively speak, read, write, and effectively comprehend English.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- Ability to calculate premiums based on exposures and rates.
- Ability to apply payments and/or refunds to specific invoices and item numbers.
Responsibilities
- Locate new sales opportunities by visiting existing and new customers and presenting our products and services.
- Maintain and increase current profitable books of business.
- Establish and foster client relationships and anticipate and resolve any problems that may arise.
- Respond expeditiously to customer needs and follow through on all aspects of requests, both written and verbal.
- Embrace change and participate in activities needed to support the growth of the company.
- Develop, analyze, select, and profitably price risks of varying complexity with an emphasis on new business production.
- Provide thorough and clear underwriting proposals and in a timely manner.
- Achieve agreed upon production and loss ratio goals within assigned book of business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensing and designations preferred but not required.
- Would prefer for eligible candidates to reside in either Ohio or Texas.
