Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment, ideally in process engineering, NPI, or scale–up
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or equivalent
- Hands on experience with small to medium to large equipment and a desire to roll up your sleeves and fill the gaps where necessary
- Expertise in process engineering principles, statistical analysis, and quality management systems for process optimization and improvement
- Strong ability to use statistical methods to make process development decisions (using JMP or Minitab or equivalent)
- Direct experience owning manufacturing processes and showing accountability for their quality, throughput, yield, and overall success
- Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Drive the development and optimization of novel battery manufacturing technologies.
- Prioritize safety across all aspects of manufacturing, ranging from process design to scaled manufacturing.
- Collaborate with the product design, R&D, quality, equipment and supply chain teams to translate product requirements into a battery design and manufacturing process that achieve our company targets.
- Select the right manufacturing methods to make the best possible Iron Anodes and/or Air Cathodes, and validate those recommendations through rigorous engineering trials and prototype builds, ultimately informing multi-million dollar equipment purchasing decisions for Form Energy’s high-volume production lines.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability, making a major impact on our battery technology by commissioning and owning novel processes in a fast-paced prototype manufacturing environment.
- Work with a diverse range of teams inside and outside the company to achieve major manufacturing milestones, such as launching revolutionary production methods and capabilities.
