Requirements
- Doctorate degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related field with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience deploying robotic systems to business and production environments.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience leading teams or large projects.
- Demonstrated deep domain knowledge in robotics systems including perception, reasoning, planning, and robotic actuation/motion.
- Experience in reinforcement learning, including investigation on how artificial agents learn to develop complex behaviors autonomously, model-free, through self-organization and self-reconfiguration principles.
- Experience leading large research programs, writing successful R&D proposals, and demonstrated ability to take an idea from concept to a product.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals at the Masters level for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

- If contracted in the US, you must be willing to relocate to the Niskayuna, NY area.
Responsibilities
- Work with engineering, manufacturing and service leaders across GE Vernova to identify automation and robotics needs.
- Work with Researchers across the GE Vernova Advanced Research Center to identify technology trends with disruption potential for GE Vernova.
- Identify strategic partners and create a robotics technology roadmap.
- Work with external partners such as government agencies and outside business partners to define strategy and then act as an enabler for team execution.
- Collaborate with key partners and executives as well as with external partners to build a robust portfolio of Research programs to drive the Robotics strategy for GE Vernova with programs in manufacturing and services across GE Vernova.
- Lead early stage technology development with high disruption potential and mature these technologies from initial concept to successful product introduction.
- Coordinate disruptive technology efforts in close collaboration with our GE Vernova businesses and ensure that such efforts are incorporated into long-term multi-generational technology and product road maps and plans.
- Drive technology and product roadmaps to ensure our businesses have a multi-year strategic plan that is competitive.
- Drive the GE Vernova robotics manufacturing and services strategy for safety, quality and productivity.
- Provide technical leadership across GE Vernova on disruptive technologies and market trends with a strong understanding of what the competition is doing.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary programs.
- Industrial experience in the field of computer vision for industrial application.
- Demonstrated capabilities in related fields such as AI/Machine Learning, autonomous systems and software engineering.
- Ability to make decisions with confidence when problems or solutions are not well defined.
- Demonstrated capability to thrive in a matrixed team environment.
- Familiarity with multiple GE Vernova businesses and shown ability to leverage cross-business networks to achieve outcomes.
- Shown ability to manage risk and uncertainty for self and team within a dynamic priority-setting environment.
- Strong technical acumen paired with an ability to understand a wide range of technology domains.
- Influence, facilitation, and negotiation skills; boundary-less/solution-focused approach.
- Demonstrated ability to take an innovative idea from research to a product.
- Strong record of peer-reviewed journal publications and conference presentations.
