Requirements
- Proficiency in a modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, or similar)
- Knowledge of designing and running large-scale, microservices-based systems with high availability and resiliency in mind
- Proven track record of creating and supporting developer productivity tools (CI/CD pipelines, IaaC, observability stacks)
- Experience managing systems that bridge multiple public clouds, including networking and authorization across cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and deliver complex technical solutions in a clear, concise manner
- Resourceful, curious, and comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and libraries that power Loft Orbital’s multi-cloud infrastructure and support a wide range of satellite missions
- Create and maintain tools, frameworks, and automation solutions to streamline software development lifecycles (CI/CD), observability, and deployment across multi-cloud environments
- Tackle the complexity of large-scale, high-availability systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant in multi-region and multi-cloud setups
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to understand their workflow pain points, then develop or enhance tools to improve productivity, reliability, and performance
- Provide clear documentation, training, and guidance to empower teams to effectively utilize the services and tools you build
- Advocate for Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps principles, performance optimizations, and reliability patterns throughout the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, or broader DevSecOps principles
- Familiarity with Argo, FluxCD, or advanced Grafana-based observability
- Experience optimizing cloud spend in large-scale environments
- A background in space systems, embedded systems, or IoT solutions is helpful (but not required!)
