Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a litigation paralegal with a focus on electronic discovery.
- Extensive experience with eDiscovery software and tools (e.g., Relativity, Microsoft Purview, Nuix, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience negotiating contracts with vendors including outside counsel.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Excellent management skills and business judgment with a capacity to make decisions and give advice, demonstrating an understanding of overall business objectives and the risks/rewards of each situation.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate, strong organizational skills and ability to work with others and manage multiple time sensitive matters in a demanding, fast-paced, and matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide significant support to all aspects of the eDiscovery process, including data preservation, collection, processing, review, and production.
- Develop and implement eDiscovery strategies in coordination with attorneys to deal with both litigation and governmental inquiries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for eDiscovery vendors.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with eDiscovery providers; including ensuring providers are on budget.
- Ensure compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and case law related to eDiscovery, including collection from non-US jurisdictions.
- Utilize best-in-class litigation tools to streamline and enhance the eDiscovery process.
- Assist outside counsel in the drafting and responding to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admission.
- Manage document review and production efforts.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to discovery requests.
- Negotiate billing rates and manage budgets for outside counsel and other litigation vendors.
- Oversee outside counsel engagement, including onboarding and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for vendor management.
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, organizing documents, and coordinating witnesses.
- Maintain and organize case files.
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Stay up to date on current trends and best practices in litigation support and eDiscovery.
- Stay up to date on the latest litigation technology and tools.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide training and support to other team members on the use of litigation tools.
