Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • 6+ years Network Engineering experience
  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent industry-recognized networking certification
  • Security+ CE or equivalent security certification
  • Must have a valid passport and willing to travel
  • Demonstrated mastery configuring/troubleshooting DMVPN, and GRE tunnels
  • Proven expertise in routing/switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP)
  • Expertise in network security policy implementation and security device configuration
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HAIPE encryption devices
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work efficiently, multitask, and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and autonomous work skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain network security policies, ensuring firewalls and security devices are configured to protect organizational data and systems.
  • Ensure high availability, redundancy, and optimal performance of the central service node’s network infrastructure, supporting critical applications and services.
  • Design, configure, and manage secure VPN connections to provide reliable communication between remote locations.
  • Maintain and optimize network equipment, including routers, firewalls, switches, WAN accelerators, and encryption devices, ensuring stable and efficient connectivity.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements using Riverbed appliances to enhance speed and efficiency.
  • Administer and support key network-related software, including Cisco Call Manager (VoIP), SolarWinds (network monitoring), and Cisco ISE (access control).
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues, providing timely support to both local and remote users to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in network capacity planning, ensuring the infrastructure scales effectively to meet mission demands.
  • Maintain detailed network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures, for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication on network-related initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards, maintaining best practices across all network operations.
  • Provide on-call support for critical network issues, ensuring swift resolution during off-hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS in CS, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, or other relevant professional-level certifications
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP or CASP+
  • ITIL Foundation certification (v3 or v4)
  • Experience administering and supporting network access control systems
  • Experience with VoIP/collaboration systems (e.g., Cisco Call Manager)
  • Experience with firewalls and rule sets
  • Experience with WAN optimization technologies
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft)
  • Knowledge of network automation
