Requirements

  • PhD in bioengineering, chemical engineering, biophysics, computational biology, mathematics, pharmacometrics, pharmaceutical sciences, or related disciplines that combine biological systems, mathematical modeling, and computational methods.
  • 2+ years of experience working at the interface of quantitative sciences and drug development.
  • Strong background in QSP modeling with demonstrated ability to translate mechanistic understanding of biological systems into mathematical frameworks, complemented by experience in data analytics and pharmacometrics approaches.
  • Strong programming experience in at least one language (Python, MATLAB, R, C, C++, etc.) including proficiency with numerical computation, data analysis, modeling, and visualization libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, dplyr, ggplot, SimBiology).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive therapeutic program success by designing and developing mechanistic QSP models that reveal crucial insights about disease biology and drug-system interactions across therapeutic areas.
  • Shape critical development decisions by applying QSP approaches to tackle challenging questions about dose selection, study design, and patient population targeting.
  • Transform our understanding of drug behavior by integrating preclinical and clinical data through innovative model-based analyses that bridge the translational gap.
  • Build confidence in model-based approaches by preparing clear, scientifically rigorous regulatory documentation and responses to health authority questions.
  • Enhance our modeling capabilities by implementing cutting-edge data analytics, AI/ML solutions that complement and strengthen QSP strategies.
  • Accelerate analysis workflows through development of automated tools and intuitive visualizations that communicate model insights effectively.
  • Champion quantitative approaches by representing modeling analyses in cross-functional teams and translating technical results into actionable insights.
  • Advance the field of QSP by contributing to scientific publications and presenting at key conferences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern data analytics and AI/ML approaches to support model development and data analysis is a plus.
  • Experience with pharmacometrics software (e.g., NONMEM, Monolix) is a plus.
