Requirements
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering technologies such as virtualization, cloud computing and programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure engineering or other technical teams
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against set strategic initiatives
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Ability to demonstrate skills in data analysis
- Act as a change agent to challenge the status quo and identify new paths forward to existing challenges
Responsibilities
- Serves in a leadership role for multiple technical teams and collaborates with others within the function
- Anticipates the needs and potential dependencies of the broader team
- Provides tasks, guidance, and expectations as necessary
- Identifies and takes action to mitigate and escalate issues to appropriate leadership
- Manages stakeholders and ensures teams deliver the aligned projects in line with the compliance standards, risk and security, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Applies relevant technical expertise, leadership, and business knowledge to projects of moderate to large scope
- Contributes to decisions that influence staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss
- Advises junior engineers and technologists
- Adds to the team’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
