Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in unscripted television development, ideally at a network, studio, production company, or agency
  • Demonstrated passion for unscripted TV and a keen eye for formats, talent, and storytelling trends
  • Strong understanding of the production and development process, with experience giving creative feedback
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to articulate creative ideas clearly and effectively
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills; ability to track multiple projects simultaneously
  • Established industry contacts and working relationships with producers, agents, and talent
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Suite, and production tracking tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while taking initiative and driving results
  • Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the SVP and VP of Development to support and manage the unscripted development slate across all stages—from pitch to pilot
  • Source, evaluate, and develop unscripted series ideas in alignment with the creative strategy of FAE
  • Track submissions and maintain detailed records of pitches, treatments, sizzles, and competitive programming
  • Provide constructive, creative notes on loglines, decks, sizzles, and development materials in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Collaborate with producers, talent, agents, and external partners to develop new series concepts and formats
  • Assist in scheduling and managing pitch meetings, internal creative reviews, and development check-ins
  • Help maintain development timelines, deliverables, and budgets while ensuring that quality and creativity remain a top priority
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging talent to help inform the team’s creative and strategic decisions
  • Create internal documents and pitch materials, including presentations and summaries for internal and external use
  • Coordinate across departments (marketing, legal, production) to ensure alignment on project needs and status
  • Represent the studio in a professional and informed manner during calls, meetings, and festivals as needed
