Requirements

  • Minimum education of a BA/BS degree in business or STEM field is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional business experience, preferably including operations and project management expertise in the life sciences and biopharmaceutical industry with some prior knowledge and/or experience working in Business Development; knowledge of financial principles is preferred.
  • Able to maintain multiple concurrent timelines and competing priorities efficiently with a high degree of independence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate effectively across a virtual, cross-functional matrix, while building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proven strength at communicating effectively with high level stakeholders internally and externally, with credibility and confidence.
  • Detail-oriented focus to ensure that all aspects of investment portfolio management are executed with success.

Responsibilities

  • Leading inbound portfolio management tasks, including ensuring outreach from portfolio companies are triaged to appropriate internal stakeholders and managing the annual proxy vote process.
  • Tracking/organizing the Equity & VCs in-flight deals book of work (BoW) to support successful triaging and diligence of opportunities.
  • Leading or supporting cross-functional investment portfolio reviews and weekly BoW review meetings with responsible cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Managing all new company vendor set-ups and working with appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure timely setup ahead of deal close.
  • Owning the payment approval processes for new, follow-on, and tranche payments, as well as capital call payments.
  • Supporting equity investment divestitures on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Leading or supporting equity & VC process optimization initiatives.
  • Depending on deal flow, the candidate may have the opportunity to shadow a Deal Lead on an active equity or VC investment transaction.
  • Potential to work on additional transactional opportunities in the future, as seen fit by the Executive Director, Transactions talent lead and business needs require.
