Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, M.S. a plus.
- 8+ years of professional experience in related positions.
- Strong understanding of common software development practices and DevOps.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices with demonstrable experience in production environments.
- Expertise in design, implementation, and operation of automated testing systems and release branch management.
- Experience with release management using GitHub Enterprise or similar tools.
- Track record of delivering robust products to internal and external customers.
- Management or mentoring experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the engineering team responsible for the end-to-end software release process, ensuring timely and high-quality software delivery. Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members.
- Support and enhance the release workflow, including daily release builds and production releases.
- Drive continuous improvements in our CI/CD pipeline to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Ensure that software releases meet stringent standards and provide necessary performance guarantees.
- Collaborate with production automotive release processes and influence best practices within the organization.
- Utilize data-driven analysis to identify critical issues, prioritize efforts, and ensure optimal driving performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design upcoming features, requirements, and estimate their impact on driving performance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the release process, including changelogs, performance expectations, and risk assessments. Introduce scalable methods of automating reports and traceability.
- Work Breakdown: 50% release execution, 25% process roadmapping and implementation, 25% data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shipping automotive production software, either OEM or Tier1. OTA specialization a bonus
- Proficiency in data science, statistics, root cause analysis, failure analysis.
- A generalist or robotics background, and a strong desire to learn new technical skills.
- Strong grasp of automated driving technologies spanning planning, control, perception, and localization.
- Experience with Python, C++, and Linux
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, JAMA, test management tools
- Japanese language proficiency
