  • Life, Health, Accident License required.
  • Prior experience in life, disability and long-term care insurance are required.
  • Skilled in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Windows, Adobe, Webex

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with the team’s Sales staff to evaluate a client’s particular needs to develop and execute a strategic Personal Insurance Plan.
  • Serves as a product expert providing technical guidance and product design recommendations to the sales staff or directly to the client.
  • Produces Life, Disability, Long-Term-Care Insurance and Annuity quotes; utilizes carrier illustration software to input client-specific demographic data securing appropriate policy quotes from multiple carriers to identify the most suitable options.
  • Responsible for calculating commissions on new quotes and identifying second-year commission opportunities.
  • Designs new business presentations and discusses options with internal sales staff and/or directly with the client as needed; evaluates the options available and makes a recommendation of the most favorable alternatives to meet the coverage objective.
  • Regularly attends client/prospect meetings with sales staff and is responsible for presenting the technical aspects of the proposed insurance plan.
  • Upon client acceptance, reviews issued policies for accuracy by comparing the policy specifics to the original quote; attaches a specific service plan and communicates plan to the Client Manager for the proper execution of the policy.
  • Responsible for proactive review of established book of business by client for the potential to offer alternative products that lead to more effective solutions.
  • Maintains relationships with brokers and carriers and remains up to date on the latest carrier-specific product offerings and insurance planning trends; knowledgeable in current estate tax laws, charitable strategies, split-dollar, and deferred compensation designs.
  • Works closely and builds relationships with high net-worth clients and their advisors, providing them with technical guidance on the impact of policy changes or transactions and the resulting favorable or unfavorable outcomes, delegates the process of policy changes to Client Managers.
  • Utilizes the system of record to maintain accurate and updated client demographic and financial information, prospect quotes and client presentations; ensures all data is entered into the system on a timely basis.
  • Serves as a technical back-up to Client Managers on assigned Institutional Accounts and is responsible for researching and presenting new and alternative plan designs.
  • Attends topic-specific webinars and meets regularly with carriers to obtain product knowledge on the latest market offerings.
  • Performs peer reviews of all new business presentations, illustrations, and newly issued policies to ensure the accuracy of information for client meetings.
  • Attains further education, coursework, and skills development opportunities to obtain professional designations in their field of expertise.
  • Develops leadership capabilities in the planning, execution and delivery of special projects as needed; serves as a change agent where circumstances dictate.
  • Leads others by example through the sharing of knowledge and skills. Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and the Human Resource Department. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NASD Series 6 or Series 7 Licensing preferred.
  • Professional Designations of CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, or CFP preferred.
  • Experience working for an insurance brokerage firm or agency preferred.
