Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design is required.
  • Experience with, and understanding of, Engineering, Architecture, and Construction terminology is required.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, studies, detailed designs, calculations, schedules, inspections on assigned projects.
  • Prepare specifications, including investigating local standards, manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Perform field observations and obtain information on existing conditions on select projects.
  • Meet with owners and design-build contractors to glean functional and program requirements and select/develop simple and elegant mechanical systems to satisfy those requirements.
  • Support the preparation of project capital cost estimates.
  • Lead the development of corporate mechanical drawing standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of mechanical scopes of work, deliverables and man-hour budgets for select engineering proposals.
  • Provide proactive coordination with other design disciplines on select projects.
  • Mentor junior design staff in their skills development.
  • Comply with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
  • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree is preferred.
  • Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings is preferred.
