Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of practical experience in industrial engineering roles including automation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other relevant project management certifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (CAD) in 2D applications.
- Familiarity with automation technologies and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective internal and external collaboration and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in identifying and mitigating risks associated with industrial engineering projects.
- Ability to think innovatively and propose creative solutions to engineering challenges.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in project scope or requirements.
- Proficient in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Ability to work quickly with minimal supervision.
- Available for a minimum of 25% travel based on business needs that would require visits to other ThredUP distribution centers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automation strategies to optimize operational processes.
- Identify areas where automation can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity and ergonomics.
- Evaluate and select appropriate automation technologies and systems for integration.
- Lead automation projects from conception to implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Plan and oversee the seamless integration of automation systems into existing operational processes.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure compatibility with existing software and systems.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to justify automation investments and demonstrate the return on investment.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to automation projects and processes to preemptively address bottlenecks.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with automation implementation, projects and internal roll outs.
- Develop contingency plans to address unexpected challenges and disruptions.
- Collaborate with various departments, including engineering, production, and maintenance, to foster effective communication and teamwork.
- Manage automation vendors and contractors to select suitable equipment and technologies.
- Negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
