Requirements

  • BSEE/MSEE Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 3-5 years’ Experience with C and C++ software development.
  • Knowledge of assembly programming.
  • Experience with using microcontrollers, its associated peripherals such as timers, ADC, communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C), etc.
  • Experience with motor drive systems and understanding of common algorithms to control motors including Field Oriented Control.
  • Understanding of common microcontroller peripherals such as: timers, GPIO, watchdog, ADC, UART, DMA.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software concepts, including hard real time processing, process scheduling, cooperative multitasking, interrupt processing, race conditions, RTOS.
  • Experience with both hardware and software development.
  • Experience with using electronic equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, digital multimeters etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence the organization and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to help others on the team in resolving their issues when necessary.
  • Ability to accomplish unrelated objectives concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced motor control algorithms such as Sensorless motor control on various proof-of concept prototypes.
  • Design, simulate, implement, and test new motor control functionality in an embedded system.
  • Provide leadership in achieving performance and technology teams objectives related to electronic systems, components and sub-assemblies.
  • Develop solution for electrification of Power Tools and Outdoor Equipment as a member of Electrification and Advanced Technology team.
  • Document all designs and decisions so that others can understand and expand.
  • Communicate with internal customers and stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to track progress in fulfilling an objective within a deadline.
  • Training and mentoring junior team members.
  • Keeps up with latest technological advancements in Semiconductor and Motor technologies that are relevant to Stanley Black and Decker.
