Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis with a focus on margin management, cost analysis, and FP&A in the CPG industry.
  • Strong experience in standard costing, COGS analysis, and cost structure optimization.
  • Advanced proficiency with financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, particularly in an ERP environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with financial systems (particularly SAP B1 ERP systems), Business Intelligence tools (Power BI), and advanced-level skills with MS Office Excel (queries, macros, and advanced pivot tables).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and turn it into actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Strong understanding of operational metrics such as production variances, yield loss, labor costs, and capacity planning.
  • Experience creating and implementing real-time financial dashboards (via Power BI) and KPI reports that empower decision-makers.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to educate non-financial teams and simplify complex financial concepts.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in designing a holistic Supply Chain Margin Management Program in partnership with a cross-functional operations team.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance margins across the supply chain, including procurement, production, and logistics.
  • Lead comprehensive COGS analysis to evaluate cost structures within the operations and provide recommendations for cost savings.
  • Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and monitoring of margin management initiatives, including clear KPI identification and progress tracking.
  • Educate and guide cross-functional teams on financial analysis, including the ROI of margin initiatives and performance metrics.
  • Lead the monthly Department Budget vs. Actual Reporting to ensure the business is on track with financial targets and identify any potential risks.
  • Design and implement real-time dashboards, as well as enhanced KPIs, and management reports to improve the visibility of financial performance across the business.
  • Perform regular Production Variance KPI analysis, including yield loss, cost of labor analysis, and other key cost drivers.
  • Provide financial data and ad hoc analysis for the operations, supply planning, demand planning, and procurement teams.
  • Actively participate in the financial aspects of the operations Capacity Roadmap, helping to assess and evaluate financial feasibility and the cost impact of new capacity investments.
  • Develop financial models to assess the impact of increased capacity on cost structures, margins, and overall profitability.
  • Analyze and provide insights into a corporate move from actual costing to standard costing within the company’s ERP system.
  • Maintain and update standard costing metrics, perform reconciliations, and monitor the financial impact on margins.
  • Assist in evaluating the financial implications of operational changes, including new product rollouts, process optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze Customer and Product Line P&L’s to assess the profitability, ensuring key customers and product lines meet margin targets.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to evaluate customer-specific financial performance, including pricing, promotions, and cost structures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer and product line profitability through better margin management, cost optimization, and strategic pricing adjustments.
  • Report on customer and product-level financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to business leaders.
  • Develop and manage New Item P&L’s to evaluate the financial viability of new product introductions, including forecasting costs, margins, and sales projections.
  • Collaborate with Sales, R&D, and Marketing to adjust pricing, promotional strategies, and product positioning to meet profitability goals for both existing and new product lines.
