Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree With a major in accounting or finance
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects to completion, including facilitating and running meetings and interacting independently with senior management
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting financial statements and applying a business perspective in summary results
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Proven thorough understanding of accounting through past experience in creating financial statements, providing financial reporting and applying GAAP to financial statements
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner while following proper rules of punctuation, diction and style
  • Proven ability or proven aptitude for presenting results to senior management
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and examples of newly developed analyses and independently executed special projects identifying the relevance to managing the business
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter
  • Proficient in Excel to include the creation and linking of spreadsheets along with graphing capabilities
  • Working knowledge of word processing software
  • Working knowledge of presentation software
  • Working knowledge of familiarity with accounting packages/software

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the oversight of the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions provided by our external service providers for the Touchstone mutual funds
  • Performs the daily operational activities for the mutual funds and the implementation of acquisitions and mergers
  • Is responsible for the preparation, review, accurate and timely completion of the Annual, Semi-Annual, Prospectus, SAI, N-Q, N-PORT, N-CEN and other financial reports
  • Is responsible for the preparation and review of materials for management and the Touchstone Board
  • Is responsible to make sure the mutual funds are operating in accordance with SEC regulations and in the best interest of fund shareholders
  • Identifies, develops and implements methods to ensure the accuracy of information across the various reports to shareholders, regulators, management and the Touchstone Board
  • Proactively designs, develops and implements effective oversight procedures, improves operational efficiencies and streamlines current processes
  • Supports the implementation of regulatory changes into Touchstone’s procedures, controls and workflows
  • Reviews and analyzes fund budgets, accruals and expense payments
  • Implements cost-savings ideas across the mutual fund complex to enhance the performance of the funds and returns to shareholders
  • Stays current on trends in the mutual fund industry by networking and attending industry events
  • Participates in the industry Investment Company Institute and educational training programs
  • Serves as backup to the Senior Advanced Accountant
  • Performs other duties as assigned
