Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Geoscience or Earth Sciences from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience with an active exploration and production company
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and interpret multiple geologic, petrophysical, and geophysical parameters into a concise geologic model
- Utilize surface and subsurface geotechnical data to generate geologic models through log correlation, cross-section construction, stratigraphic analysis, basic petrophysical analysis, and basic to advanced mapping techniques to characterize petroleum systems and hi-graded play fairways
- Participate in strategic peer review sessions to present and refine interpretations and technical analysis to deliver technically vetted, high-quality exploration prospects
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of geoscientists, engineers, and land and commercial teams to conduct assessments of strategic opportunities and emerging plays to develop a portfolio of investment opportunities as well as generate development plans for existing assets
- Effectively utilize advanced geotechnical software tools in the interpretation process
- Convey technical findings through oral presentations and written reports to both upper management as well as peer review presentations
- Work in a collaborative multi-disciplined environment incorporating a wide variety of data from various sources to develop a team-driven interpretation.
- Effectively communicate strategy, recommendations, and execution plans for capital programs regarding project funding, data capture, and testing plans
- Be a key contributor in the planning, execution, and evaluation of exploration wells, subsurface data gathering programs, and integration of industry best practices and latest technology
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Geology and/or Geophysics, Physics, or Mathematics.
