Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree – Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of EPA, ODEQ, ISO 14001 and other applicable environmental regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage numerous projects and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to follow written specifications and written and verbal guidance.
- Team player. Professional, respectful, and accountable to colleagues, internal customers, and external customers. Ability to take initiative and ownership.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams and manage multidisciplinary projects, including budgets and construction activities, to meet regulatory deadlines and department objectives.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, industry standards and best practices for air, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, recycling and related environmental programs.
- Monitor, interpret, and implement new and emerging environmental regulations and standards.
- Investigate environmental issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and support to employees across all shifts.
- Perform hands-on tasks such as equipment calibration, site inspections (indoor and outdoor), and material handling.
- Apply chemistry and engineering knowledge to evaluate process alternatives and work with internal teams and suppliers.
- Prepare regulatory submittals (e.g., TRI, Tier II, Hazardous Waste Report, Discharge Monitoring Reports, Air Emissions Inventory, SPCC, and SWPCP reports).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in chemistry.
- Experience with environmental modeling, permit compliance, and regulatory agency engagement.
- Semiconductor, technology and/or manufacturing environmental experience.
