Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field and 9 Years of experience as a design engineer or related occupation
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field and 6 Years of experience as a design engineer or related occupation
- 5 years of experience with electrical and sheet metal 3D modeling using CREO
- 5 years of experience with Teamcenter, Vismockup, EDS, and PRWB
- Experience with Caterpillar Large Mining Trucks, Caterpillar Drills, Guide, Fleet, Aux, and Terrain
Responsibilities
- Direct and participate in the concept and design of complex engineering product or process projects for release to production
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of projects
- Accountable for contributing to the concept, development, and design of complex components, subsystems, or processes
- Perform complex analysis work, identify design problems, and resolve problems with a focus on technical delivery
- Work directly with different units, suppliers, customers, and/or other teams
- Communicate technical information in a concise and accurate manner
- Make decisions that may affect project teams and its delivery of projects
- Utilize analytical skills and a mastery of engineering concepts
- Meet goals for cost, reliability, and performance, and manage multiple priorities
- Keep up to date on changing customer needs as projects progress
- Provide guidance and direction on projects to less experienced engineers, technologists, and technicians
- Design and promote new components and sub processes
- Perform needs analysis and initiate ideas
- Evaluate new products or processes
- Perform product maintenance
- Keep up to date on new technologies or develop new technologies
- Support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers
