Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus six (6) years of full-time experience in project management, design, construction, operations, administration, architectural, or mechanical/plumbing estimation or a related field; four years must have been in a supervisory (supervision of subordinate employees) or management (manage a function, unit, or process) capacity; or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Support development of plans to meet the City’s emissions and energy reduction goals.
- Manage funding to ensure the SCA has access to appropriate project implementation mechanisms.
- Support the development and implementation of energy efficiency and/or clean energy projects.
- Manage energy and GHG emissions reduction tracking, performance management and reporting.
- Spearhead strategic planning on innovative sustainability solutions.
- Serve as the liaison from the Capital Plan Management department on internal and external discussions about innovative energy solutions and help set up the implementation framework for any unique solutions that are viable.
- Evaluate proposed energy conservation measures for individual projects.
- Provide overall support for the SCA’s and City’s mission.
- Mentor junior team members and interns as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, architecture, applied science, environmental science, public policy or related field
- Familiarity with energy management, design and implementation of programs, or environmental research
- Understanding of building energy systems and energy efficiency technologies
- Knowledge of energy savings calculations and emissions calculation methodologies
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) a plus.
