Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related field.
- 4-10 years of direct experience in energetics manufacturing.
- Comprehensive understanding of solid rocket motor design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with process control, quality assurance, and failure analysis methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to energetics manufacturing (e.g., DoD 4145.26, ASTM, CDLE).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize energetic manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors.
- Oversee the production of energetic materials, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement process control methods to monitor and improve production efficiency and product consistency.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations to address manufacturing defects and improve product reliability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in energetics manufacturing.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications.
- Train and mentor manufacturing technicians and junior engineers in best practices and safety protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in materials, manufacturing techniques, and aerospace industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in energetics manufacturing.
- A desire to think outside the box and buck industry trends.
- Direct involvement in standing up new mixing and/or milling systems.
- Collaboration with propellant development teams to deploy new formulations of energetics.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
