Requirements

  • Associates in Computer Aided Design or comparable experience is required.
  • 2 years of experience providing design/model coordination.
  • 5-10 years of experience is required.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD software.
  • Understanding of AEC industry and project workflows (schematic design, design development, construction documentation phases).
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Electrical Construction Industry.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare detailed electrical engineering and construction installation drawings.
  • Consult with lead engineers and review project shop drawings for design accuracy.
  • Develop conceptual or detailed electrical designs in power distribution, lighting, low voltage systems instrumentation, and controls for a variety of industries.
  • Develop control panel drawings consisting of PLC panel layouts and I/O schematics.
  • Electrical design deliverables include electrical one lines, power and lighting plans, electrical site plans, area classification plans, & grounding plans.
  • Develop Revit and AutoCAD 3D & 2D models.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable building codes to design projects.
  • Analyze mechanical and process designs by reviewing P&IDs & general arrangement drawings.
  • Comply with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
  • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other Building Codes is preferred.
