Requirements
- PHD or master’s degree in computer science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Data Science, or a similar field.
- 8+ years of experience in ML, AI and data science
- Strong track record of solving complicated business problems using GenAI and data.
- Profound knowledge of data science and machine learning, Natural Language Processing, LLM, and GenAI.
- Exemplary hands-on expertise in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a simple, understandable manner tailored to a wide audience.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive the strategic vision and execution for the GenAI and data science team.
- Accelerate the adoption of AI/ML advances in the entire customer care domain, from customer facing GenAI chat and voice bots, to agent assist experiences, and large scale data analysis.
- Lead hands-on experiments and prototypes. Provide strategic direction for problem solving.
- Hire, mentor and grow science and engineering talent.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, collaboration, and risk taking.
- Work cross-functionally across various engineering, product, UX and business teams. Drive consensus and bring ideas to production.
- Serve as a team expert on changes in industry trends, products, and other advances, and apply this knowledge to influence product needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.
- Publications or active peer reviewer in related journals or conference.
- Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
- Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
