Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Operational Risk Management
- Solid understanding of risk management
- Proven leadership within the business or function
- Strategic mindset, with excellent knowledge and understanding of RBC businesses and organization
- Highly developed ability for conceptual thinking
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven track record of building strong relationships across business functions
Responsibilities
- Support Personal & Commercial Banking Segments in identifying and mitigating operational risk
- Maintain effective relationships and routines with first, second and third line of defense risk, governance and control teams
- Provide operational risk management leadership within Personal & Commercial Banking (PB/CB)
- Ensure the effective implementation of the RBC Enterprise Operational Risk Framework within PB/CB
- Ensure the effective implementation and execution of Operational Risk programs
- Proactively identify, measure, and analyze operational risks providing mitigation strategies where appropriate
- Provide leadership on operational risk reviews and feedback on the operational risk impact of major change initiatives
- Provide leadership on audit and SOX issues that impact PB & CB
- Investigate large loss events to assess for potential systemic weaknesses
- Align operational risk activities with other assessment activities
- Partner with the Senior Director, Operational Risk COE on a combined operating model
