Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience, particularly within media, technology or direct to consumer subscription-based businesses.
  • Experience in the audience development and messaging space, with a proven track record of building messaging experiences that foster habit and drive engagement.
  • Deep expertise with product management best practices including techniques for identifying customer needs, hypothesis-driven roadmaps, prototyping, AB testing and user-centered design.
  • Experience growing and managing multiple product management teams.
  • Proven ability to motivate, lead and collaborate with editorial, design, engineering, marketing and data teams.
  • Experience using user research, engagement metrics and web/mobile analytics to inform product strategies.
  • Hands on experience with messaging tools and martech platforms (e.g., CDPs, customer journey orchestration, CRM platforms), including managing vendors.
  • Strong leadership, communications and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CNN’s product vision and strategy for audience development and messaging experiences that foster habitual, meaningful engagement across channels and throughout the customer journey.
  • Collaborate with editorial and growth partners to design and implement product features and strategies that accelerate audience development across owned and organic channels.
  • Lead a product management team focused on creating messaging experiences across email, push, web and in-app messaging that deepen user engagement and encourage habit formation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, editorial, design, marketing and data teams to develop a cohesive roadmap.
  • Lead the product team responsible for CNN’s marketing technology strategy, operations and platforms (including customer segmentation, journey orchestration and automation tools).
  • Act as a champion for using first party data, behavioral insights and customer segmentation to create more relevant and valuable messaging experiences.
  • Build, coach and inspire a high performing, innovative product team. Define clear OKRs aligned with CNN’s business goals. Foster a culture of accountability, cross-functional collaboration and rapid experimentation that balances speed, quality and long-term scalability.
