Requirements
- 12+ years of design experience, including 6+ years managing high-performing product design teams in technical domains.
- Experience designing game platforms, developer platforms, SDKs, or services for technical audiences (e.g. game services, game dev tools, infrastructure UX, platform APIs), and consumers at scale.
- Ability to synthesize technical requirements, user needs, and business priorities to shape the overall games platform design strategy.
- You think in terms of systems, frameworks, and interfaces, and bring a rigorous approach to designing at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to make timely, high-quality decisions that advance both product goals and team growth.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, guiding teams through trade-offs, and cascading context clearly across functions.
- Able to articulate design rationale to partners, advocate for design strategy, and cultivate strong relationships with XFN stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor a team of senior product designers working across games platform and services, fostering a strong team culture focused on craft, impact, and inclusion.
- Partner with product, engineering, consumer insights, and developer experience leadership to define the near- and medium-term strategy for games platform design.
- Oversee the design of tools and infrastructure that power game development, distribution, and operations on Netflix—from player identity systems to game launch frameworks.
- Champion intuitive, developer-friendly experiences that make building on Netflix easier—while ensuring those systems result in smooth, delightful member gameplay across the library.
- Set the direction for the team by balancing speed, craft, and business impact; model how to make confident decisions in ambiguous spaces.
- Ensure the team’s work aligns with the broader Games and Netflix experience, bringing a systems mindset to how game services connect with content, tooling, and user-facing experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with or adjacent to game development teams or tools.
- Familiarity with live service games, backend systems, or content operations.
- A background in infrastructure, dev tools, or B2B product design.
