Requirements
- Proven mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, Linear mechanisms, rotary mechanisms, flexure designs, Precision engineering, and fabrication methods.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Expert in using FEA – structural, thermal, Modal, Response spectrum, and CFD.
- Hands-on lab tests, automated data acquisition, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Developing Opto-mechanical subassemblies, covering the complete design process from requirements specification to feasibility studies, analysis, and FEA modeling, conceptual and detailed design, drawing using ProE, procurement and inspection of prototype parts, prototype assembly and testing, system integration, and handoff to manufacturing.
- Focusing on analytical and experimental validation and optimization of challenging mechanisms and optomechanical designs.
- Guiding junior designers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Creo is preferred.
- Experience in several of these areas is desirable: precision mechanics, mechanisms, nano motion actuators, optomechanical systems, optics, optics alignment, design of semiconductor equipment or similar instruments, PCB packaging and thermal analysis, machine tools, motion controls.
