Requirements
- 3+ years of proven experience in a data analytics or data science role, preferably in the healthcare or health insurance industry
- Demonstrated strong analytics aptitude and problem solving skills
- Passion for leveraging data to perform insightful analysis and drive meaningful change
- Solid quantitative foundation with a deep understanding of statistical principles and/or mathematical concepts, and the ability to select and apply appropriate advanced analytic methods
- Advanced SQL, statistical programming (Python, R, etc.), and Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate large and complex datasets
- Experience using Redshift, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Athena, and other data-adjacent AWS services for extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Experience working with medical and pharmacy claims data, with an understanding of both its nuances and opportunities for insight
- Excellent attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical results to actionable business recommendations
- Habits of excellent organization, time management, and responsiveness
- A flexible, proactive attitude and ability to thrive working independently with limited direction
- An appetite for learning and quickly putting what you learn into practice

- Bachelor’s degree, technical certification or equivalent experience required in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Economics, or other relevant area

Responsibilities
- Play a key role in helping Gravie to understand the performance of its business, understand new opportunities, and translate those insights into solutions that meaningfully improve the health benefits people get and the healthcare they receive
- Ask and answer the right questions with data, including: How are we doing? What should we continue doing? What should we stop doing? What should we start doing in the future?
- Design and conduct diverse quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the evaluation, management, and growth of new and existing products for areas across the business
- Use analytic and communication skills to tell stories with data, transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences to influence business decisions and product roadmaps
- Partner closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand business priorities and serve as expert advisor on methodologic strategies to problem-solve, uncover opportunities, and drive impact
- Champion a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization
- Employ rigorous quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of all analytical deliverables
- Contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of our growing analytics platform by partnering with cross-functional teams to effectively integrate data insights into business strategies and product improvements, in a robust and scalable fashion
- Serve as an expert resource within the team, providing guidance to peers on analytic best practices and fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and professional development.
