Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree and an active bar license (Kansas license will be required)
- At least 5 years of legal experience with 2 years focused on healthcare information technology or Software as a Service (SaaS) business models.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate client and third-party business agreements.
- Serve as legal advisor on risk management and dispute resolution matters.
- Serve as legal advisor on regulatory compliance in healthcare technology operations including privacy, security and regulatory frameworks.
- Legal research as needed.
- Assist in developing legal and compliance training programs and policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong executive presence with proven ability to influence business decisions and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex technology transactions in regulated industries.
- Experience with government contracting and/or intellectual property rights.
- Record of innovation in legal operations including process improvement, training, and policy development.
- Deep expertise in healthcare regulations including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), state privacy laws and cybersecurity frameworks.
