Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in the payments industry in a Compliance or Underwriting role.
  • Extensive experience conducting due diligence throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Subject matter expertise in Licensed Money Movement, BSA/AML Regulations, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Sanctions & OFAC, Control Testing, and related compliance areas.
  • Understanding and experience with Card Payments, ACH Payments, or Real-Time Payments, including associated rules and regulations.
  • A self-starter with a “builder” mentality, capable of thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong process improvement mindset with experience in designing, refining, and automating processes.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements for various stakeholders.
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities and demonstrating client intuition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customer-facing experience.
  • Experience with Jira, Jotform and productivity softwares.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Compliance Reviews as part of TabaPay’s merchant boarding process.
  • Assess prospective opportunities with complex compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to overall solutioning required to support clients with complex use-cases.
  • Evaluate use cases to determine regulatory requirements and supportability with Partner Banks and Payment Networks.
  • Review effectiveness of our clients’ regulatory policies and controls.
  • Recommend approval status of clients based on compliance review findings.
  • Act as a key liaison between clients, banks, and payment networks to facilitate approvals and sponsorships by clearly articulating business models and payment use cases.
  • Build relationships with partner banks, with a focus on understanding their risk appetite and bank-specific requirements.
  • Enhance our Team’s standard operating procedures and compliance policies.
  • Oversee and execute special projects related to specific client needs.
  • Design, document, and enforce compliance-related processes.
  • Contribute to strategic risk management discussions, internal training documentation and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACAMS or similar certification not required but considered a plus!
