Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Textiles, or a related field or equivalent combination or education, experience or training
- Minimum 3+ years color, textile, or product development experience
- Expertise in dye methods and colorfastness risks
- Strong understanding of digital color review, with the ability to review, approve, and communicate with the vendor on color using digital data only
- Knowledge of contributing factors to color achievability and colorfastness concerns to communicate with cross functional partners on testing issues, work with vendor on colorfastness failures, and mentor team
- Knowledge of textile and yarn construction, fiber dyeing characteristics, fabric finishing
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Experience communicating and collaborating with global partners
- Proactive problem solving and information seeking-skills
- Ability to build a strategic plan/roadmap around key projects and execute to completion
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to move with agility through ambiguity
- Able to pass the Munsell Hue color test to determine visual color acuity
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
Responsibilities
- Use color knowledge and collaboration skills to execute the seasonal color direction and will be responsible for on-time approvals for buy ready commercialization
- Collaborate with Textile Development, Color Design, and Product Risk Engineering to proactively analyze potential risks and create a mitigation plan
- Mentor teammates, onboard new hires, and implement/share best practices
- Establish close working relationships with cross-functional partners
- Contribute to the establishment of new processes for digital color review
- Research new innovations, especially in digital color, to contribute to or lead projects to establish new processes
