Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in civil engineering design including site layout, grading, drainage, underground utilities, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control and construction support.
- Experience working with AutoCAD (Civil 3D), Revit, Adobe Acrobat, or Bluebeam Revu.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with clients, consultants, contractors, Resort stakeholders, and management.
- Experience collaborating and bringing concepts into physical reality.
- Experience with data management and editing in Esri ArcGIS, especially with the Esri Utility Networks extension.
- Working knowledge of standards and codes applicable to civil utility systems.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university.
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.
Responsibilities
- Function as Owner’s Representative on projects from concept through construction at the Disneyland Resort.
- Partner with internal teams to develop, maintain, communicate, and enforce Walt Disney Company design guidelines, standards, master specifications, and details.
- Liaison with City officials and external agencies to ensure project scope and implementation is coordinated and compliant with external requirements.
- Support Resort maintenance teams with engineered solutions to various civil issues that may arise.
- Participate in the development of the Resort’s GIS for underground and other utilities by reviewing inaccuracies, researching Record Documents, and/or editing features in the Resort’s Enterprise Portal.
- Manage and update the Resort’s civil basemap using project survey information.
- Manage models of the underground utility systems, including potable/fire protection water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain systems.
- Manage Resort wide studies, such as the Asphalt Pavement Condition Index, utility flow and capacity studies, and compiled soils report information.
- Perform field work to investigate and assess utilities infrastructure and pavement condition in the Resort.
- Review and prepare calculations and reports for water quality management plan including best management practices and storm water pollution prevention plan.
- Independently review calculations, drawings, and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable codes and standards, with focus on constructability, efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide civil engineering resources to develop project scope including design, planning and code compliance for estimation and feasibility.
- Develop concept designs and RFPs (Request for Proposals).
- Attend, participate in, and problem-solving during site visits from concept through construction.
- Resolve design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines.
- Review shop drawing submittals and respond to vendor’s requests for information per Resort standards.
- Occasionally perform as Engineer of Record, including signing and sealing construction documents as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ETL tools and software, such as FME.
- Experience with InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoDrainage, or similar hydraulic modeling software.
