Requirements
- 10+ years of experience handling casualty auto/general liability claims
- University degree or equivalent
- CIP or working towards CIP
- Bilingual French and English is a strong asset
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of personal and commercial casualty liability claims
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Well-developed organizational skills
- Adaptability, flexibility and integrity
- Committed team player with a positive outlook
- Ability to work in hybrid work environment
Responsibilities
- Interpret and confirm insurance coverage
- Investigate, evaluate, and settle moderate-complex auto/general liability casualty claims with claimants or their representatives
- Direct and manage file investigations and utilize vendors, on as needed basis
- Ensure file reserves are timely and accurate
- Proactively manage communication with our customers and stakeholders, which includes providing instructions to Defense Counsel
- Attend Mediations as required
- Clearly document and summarize file activity
- Understand and support Aviva’s claim procedures and guidelines
- Regular and proactive reviews of file strategy plans
