Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a business-related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Professional certification (CIA, CFA, FRM, or other financial certification) or advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- Minimum of five years of related work experience, preferably in the financial services industry, including asset management or banking.
- Experience in audit, risk, or controls is preferred.
- Strong technical expertise in asset management, including investment and trading lifecycles, product management, and capital markets, with a proven understanding of relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment with strong project execution skills, including task prioritization, workload balancing, anticipation of next steps, and adaptability to changing situations and project scopes.
- Data analytics literacy; able to apply analytical techniques to extract actionable insights and drive informed decision-making.
- Strong communication skills, including effective written and verbal communication, a willingness to assist in areas outside of direct assignments, and a commitment to self-improvement and team objectives.
- Excellent relationship skills and a customer-focused mindset, with experience in diplomatic situations and communicating findings and industry insights to senior leaders across the company.
- Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to persuade and influence others.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor and consultant to the department and investment leaders on governance, risk, control, and areas of expertise.
- Lead audit and consulting engagements to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work and value-added recommendations. Lead multiple engagement teams concurrently in a matrixed environment. Deliver industry expertise and perspective to the team. Support annual and ongoing risk assessments and the creation of the audit.
- Communicate and clearly articulate the objectives, status, and results of assigned work to various levels of management. Influence management to act on recommendations to strengthen the control environment and make process improvements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with leaders in the divisions supporting the Investment Lifecycle, functional areas, and risk partners.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the processes, issues, pertinent regulations, and risks associated with the engagement scope.
- Evaluate the adequacy of audit control, identify control gaps, and recommend continuous improvements. Perform intricate audit work and analysis. Provide informed opinions regarding the findings, ratings, and recommendations to senior management.
- Communicate expectations and review the work of the team, providing coaching and feedback to aid in their development.
- Challenge the status quo and implement agile and innovative methods to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
