Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
- 5-7 years of direct experience in manager due diligence and selection, with a special focus in alternative strategies (e.g. private credit, equity and hedge funds)
- Understanding of portfolio construction theories and techniques
- Familiarity with multi-asset classes, with a specific emphasis on fixed income and alternative asset classes
- Quantitative background in financial modelling, data analytics, and statistical methods
- Ability to analyze large amount of data in order to generate a clear conclusion and recommendation
- Fluent in techniques to evaluate risk-return characteristics of different asset classes and manager types
- Knowledge of private asset cash flow models
- Familiarity with utilization different asset class databases (e.g. Preqin, Morningstar, Cambridge…etc)
- Expertise in assessing risk exposures for portfolios supporting various insurance liabilities
- Creative problem solver with focus on innovation
- Must be able to effectively partner with teams across PMA and PGIM asset managers
- Strong communicator with ability to develop reports and present them to clients and senior management
Responsibilities
- Work with broader investment and risk teams within PMA in assessing new asset classes and investment opportunities
- Construct customized portfolios, including appropriate implementations, taking into consideration client objectives and constraints
- Evaluate suitability of PGIM strategies relative to client portfolio objectives and constraints
- Calculate manager-level risk and return analytics, including historical metrics and scenario analyses, to fully analyze risk and return tradeoffs
- Liaise with relevant PMA teams and external parties to perform due diligence and select third-party managers, where appropriate, for use across PMA client portfolios
- Prepare memos with relevant risk and return analytics to support investment case for specific manager implementations
- Present manager recommendations to internal PMA stakeholders and clients, as needed
- Work with PMA PM and Operations teams to onboard new managers, including negotiation of manager guidelines
- Meet regularly with managers (both internal and external) to monitor changes in strategy, PM team, flows, performance and risks
- Promptly update PM and client teams on any manager issues which require portfolio actions
- Contribute to new investment and implementation ideas
Preferred Qualifications

- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred
