Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in Stewarding, Kitchen Management, F&B Operations or similar such as Hotel Management
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory position
  • Knowledge of all kitchen steward functions and all materials and equipment used in the kitchen
  • Understanding of Catering & Banquet operations, including Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen steward functions, materials, and equipment used in kitchen operations
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish language is a plus
  • Previous experience in a similar resort environment
  • Experience managing employees in a unionized setting under a Collective Bargaining Agreement

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of stewards, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to standards
  • Oversee all aspects of stewarding operations, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, waste management, and inventory control, to maintain a clean and orderly environment throughout the facility
  • Maintain strict adherence to sanitation and hygiene protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Optimize resource allocation, including staffing levels, equipment, and supplies, to meet operational requirements efficiently while controlling costs
  • Work closely with culinary and food and beverage teams to coordinate stewarding activities with kitchen operations and event schedules, ensuring seamless service delivery
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements, cost savings, and efficiency improvements within the stewarding department, implementing best practices and innovative solutions as appropriate
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely delivery of supplies and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment maintenance, incident reports, and other relevant documentation, providing regular reports to senior management as required
