Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of in hand experience in any FOREX Application product support.
  • Experience in scripting in one of the following languages: Perl, Bash, Python.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the Recovery Manager and escalation during recovery of major incidents and provides technical or domain expertise.
  • Handles major incidents including defining and executing tasks, planning and driving break fix changes/recovery actions, assessing impact and tracing progress to ensure timely escalation.
  • Provides input into the problem management process and owns actions as a result of the process.
  • Follows ITSM processes and overall execution framework to maintain SLA and SLO.
  • Captures information and facilitates the decision-making process of granting approval for immediate change requests to systems with input from the appropriate teams, understanding the potential impact to production systems prior to approval.
  • Provides application configuration and maintenance, proposing application systems changes, better uses and enhancements.
  • Delivers support to existing business users and investigates and resolves application errors, data discrepancies and queries, liaising with software suppliers as required to develop system enhancements.
  • Defines acceptance tests for new or changed automated systems.
  • Proactively continues to build and apply relevant domain knowledge that may relate to workflows, data pipelines, business policies, configurations and constraints.
  • Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools to automate software builds, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Integrates automated testing suites, code analysis tools, and security scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines to ensure the quality and security of trading software releases.
  • Implements blue-green deployments and canary releases strategies to minimize downtime and risk during deployments.
  • Implements comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions using Datadog, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics to proactively identify and address performance issues, anomalies, and security threats.
  • Configures custom dashboards and reports to provide real-time visibility into the health and performance of FX trading systems and infrastructure.
  • Configures alerts and notifications and responds to performance issues, security threats, and other incidents.
  • Responds promptly to incidents, conducts root cause analysis, and implements preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
