Senior Android Engineer – Kitchen Tech

5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on android app development.
Experience building Android applications with modern development practices (Jetpack, MVVM, Compose, etc.).
Understanding of micro-services architecture and distributed systems.
Passion for R&D and innovation, with experience building POCs and exploring emerging technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new challenges quickly.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Willingness to go to our Brooklyn office 2-3 times per week.

Contribute to and maintain Live Production Software, improving real-time tracking and operational efficiency in kitchens.
Design, develop, and optimize Android applications used in kitchen operations, leveraging Kotlin.
Work closely with kitchen staff to understand real-world challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Participate in the Ops Engineering R&D squad, exploring new technologies, building POCs, and developing prototypes to enhance operational workflows.
Collaborate with frontend, backend, and mobile engineers across the company to ensure seamless integration of new features.
Ensure system reliability and efficiency by implementing best practices in monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
Contribute to technical decision-making, code reviews, and mentorship of junior engineers.
Be open to learning and working with other programming languages if required by R&D initiatives.

Experience with GraphQL, event-driven architectures, or message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Background in food tech, logistics, or fulfillment software development.
Experience in IoT, edge computing, or hardware integrations related to kitchen operations.
