Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on android app development.
- Experience building Android applications with modern development practices (Jetpack, MVVM, Compose, etc.).
- Understanding of micro-services architecture and distributed systems.
- Passion for R&D and innovation, with experience building POCs and exploring emerging technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new challenges quickly.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Willingness to go to our Brooklyn office 2-3 times per week.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to and maintain Live Production Software, improving real-time tracking and operational efficiency in kitchens.
- Design, develop, and optimize Android applications used in kitchen operations, leveraging Kotlin.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to understand real-world challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Participate in the Ops Engineering R&D squad, exploring new technologies, building POCs, and developing prototypes to enhance operational workflows.
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, and mobile engineers across the company to ensure seamless integration of new features.
- Ensure system reliability and efficiency by implementing best practices in monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
- Contribute to technical decision-making, code reviews, and mentorship of junior engineers.
- Be open to learning and working with other programming languages if required by R&D initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GraphQL, event-driven architectures, or message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Background in food tech, logistics, or fulfillment software development.
- Experience in IoT, edge computing, or hardware integrations related to kitchen operations.
