Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- 4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain analytics, with a focus on US ground transportation (parcel, LTL, truckload).
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Solid understanding of carrier operations, freight rate structures, and transportation regulations.
- Ability to synthesize large data sets into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Self-starter with strong project management and problem-solving capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze transportation network performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, carrier utilization, and exception rates.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (supply chain, distribution, customer service) and external partners (carriers, 3PLs) to identify and implement process improvements.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to drive visibility into carrier performance, spend trends, and service gaps.
- Support annual freight procurement activities, including RFP analysis, rate benchmarking, and carrier selection recommendations.
- Provide data-driven insights and scenario modeling to support strategic transportation initiatives (mode shift, route optimization, cost reduction).
- Partner with IT or BI teams to enhance transportation data integration and reporting capabilities.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., DOT, FMCSA), and market dynamics impacting domestic transportation.
- Conduct root cause analysis of service failures and work with carriers to develop corrective action plans.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for transportation costs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP TM, Manhattan, MercuryGate) is highly desirable.
