Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or a business-related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting role.
- General understanding of GAAP policies, and internal controls.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite with an emphasis on Excel skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail oriented and the ability to deliver work products with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to convey complex information.
- Available to work across time zones with flexibility to follow-up on items outside of business hours, including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Set up workpapers, including for journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany balancing, and assist with multi-company consolidation.
- Prepare and maintain monthly accounting support workpapers.
- Perform account and variance analysis as requested by management.
- Assist with statutory regulatory filings, including premium tax and other state required regulatory filings.
- Support the preparation of supplemental financial exhibits and various other accounting statements and reports.
- Support the preparation of annual financial reports.
- Help prepare information for independent auditors and tax preparers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant or CPA candidate.
- Experience in MGA/MGU insurance operations.
- Experience in Microsoft office suite with intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in NetSuite, Concur.
- Experience with financial analysis and budgeting.
