Senior Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a business-related field.
Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in statutory accounting within P&C industry
General understanding of GAAP policies, and internal controls
Knowledge of Microsoft office suite with an emphasis on Excel skills
Ability to meet strict deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
Detail oriented and the ability to deliver work products with a high degree of accuracy
Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to convey complex information
Available to work across time zones with flexibility to follow-up on items outside of business hours, including weekends

Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany balancing, and assist with multi-company consolidation
Prepare and maintain monthly accounting support work-papers and perform reconciliations ensuring compliance with statutory accounting principles
Analyze account and variance analysis while preparing internal reporting packages for management review
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting principles and other regulatory requirements
Assist with statutory regulatory reports, including premium tax and other state required regulatory filings
Support the preparation of supplemental financial exhibits and various other accounting statements and reports, as required by management and the Board
Work with related third parties to ensure that all data required for financial reporting is received and correct and resolve reconciling items if necessary
Assist in preparing information for independent auditors and tax preparers
