Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related) required
  • 6 yrs accounting experience required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Active or Inactive) (AR) (License) – Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy

Responsibilities

  • Ensures month end closing schedule is completed on schedule to meet financial packet review and mail out deadlines.
  • Analyzes general ledger activity and reports unusual variances to management.
  • Ensures accuracy of general ledger and related financial statements on a month end and fiscal year end basis.
  • Prepares year end schedules and analysis for independent auditors, making sure all account balances are correct and no audit adjustments are necessary.
  • Works with external auditors and provides information in a timely manner to assist in maintaining the audit schedule.
  • Prepares and manages special projects, utilizing resources and delegating responsibilities as needed to complete the project.
  • Researches and resolves questions or concerns of users to determine impact on financial information or to determine if action should be taken to correct.
  • Prepares budget schedules and provides assistance with overall budget process as requested.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly schedules and analysis for management.
  • Acts as key contact for areas requiring specialized knowledge of information and processes.
  • Tests system upgrades and enhancements related to job duties.
  • May lead and/or mentor other accounting personnel. Provide input on interviews, orientations, performance and counseling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
