Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- New York State Security Guard License
- A valid New York State driver’s license
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to interact with diverse clientele, work under pressure, and make quick decisions in emergency situations
- Empathy and good judgment
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff at Albany Medical Center by monitoring hospital grounds and buildings to prevent theft and other criminal activity
- Screen patients and visitors
- Patrol corridors
- Investigate suspicious activity
- Respond to emergencies
- Provide general information to visitors
- Promote good community relations
- Maintain the peace in the hospital
- Work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement to ensure safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a hospital environment is desirable
