Requirements

  • BA/BS or Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of work experience, including hands-on technical management, experience leading global security/investigative teams, and proven contribution at both strategic and operational levels
  • 3+ years experience of people management and organizational leadership
  • Experience working cross-functionally with security engineers, analysts, product, engineering, legal, policy, and public affairs
  • Experience working with broad communities and global teams
  • Knowledge of advanced persistent threat groups
  • Experience in functional or scripting language (JavaScript, PHP, Python, OCaml, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Support a team of security engineers and threat investigators who discover, detect, investigate, and respond to threats from malicious actors
  • Provide technical direction and guidance within the domain to team members
  • Influence and align the organization’s vision and strategy while engaging your team to develop and deliver specific roadmaps and projects
  • Ensure prioritization, resourcing, and timely delivery of this work within a changing business environment
  • Coach, mentor, support, and care for the teams to enable long-term career development and success at scale
  • Track operational metrics, key performance indicators, and team health to drive team performance
  • Work with, partner, and influence other teams to solve challenges related to a broad spectrum of threat actors based on investigative findings and key intelligence
  • Build, cultivate, and maintain productive relationships with internal partners to identify and facilitate solutions to increase the impact of the team’s work
  • Identify and develop areas to scale aspects of our investigations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or experience in international and domestic terrorism issues, transnational criminal organizations, or state-sponsored cyber threat actors
  • Experience querying large data sets and SQL
  • Experience in crisis management or incident response environments
  • Demonstrated interest in understanding the intersection of global security risks and technology, especially as it pertains to Meta
