Requirements
- Have at least three years of experience teaching in any TEA approved occupation area in the state of Texas
- Have taught a Trade and Industrial Education related course in a state of Texas classroom within the past three years
- Reside in the state of Texas
- Hold a bachelor’s degree
- Comply with the ethical obligations under §SBEC 230.21 (g)
- Agree to NOT use training/experience as a scorer to receive compensation for any work in test preparation related to this assessment
- Agree to NOT take the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities for Trade and Industrial Education 6–12 exam within 180 days of scoring
- Hold a current Texas Teacher certification in an approved occupation area for Trade and Industrial Education or be an EPP faculty member of a program, approved by the state of Texas, that offers Trade and Industrial Education related courses or be an EPP faculty member teaching courses, approved by the state of Texas, for Trade and Industrial Education certification or received a passing score on the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI)
Responsibilities
- Scoring the Texas Educator Certification Examinations
- Evaluating responses to performance assignments
- Participating in scoring sessions conducted every 2 months
- Networking with peers and supporting their profession
- Staying up-to-date with current practices and content
