Requirements
- MS degree (or equivalent experience) in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Biology, Biotechnology or BA/BS with 1-3 years of laboratory research.
- Genetic and Molecular Biology experience
- Python and/or R programming experience is required
- Interest in learning automation and high throughput methods
- Hands-on mentality and strong affinity for lab work
- Ability to function independently
- Eagerness to continuously learn and investigate
- Goal oriented with a self-starter can-do attitude
- Teamworking mindset and ability to multitask
- Good communication, presentation, and networking skills
Responsibilities
- Conducting DNA-based experiments
- Executing routine molecular biology tasks and data analysis
- Working on prokaryotic genetics
- Utilizing molecular biology methods such as cloning, PCR, gDNA extraction, DNA sequencing, SDS-PAGE and microbial transformation
- Analyzing and communicating experimental results
- Preparing and presenting technical reports, data summaries, protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with microbial fermentation
- Experience with FACS
- Experience with microfluidics
- Experience with automation in molecular biology (liquid handlers, colony picking systems etc.)
