Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, industrial hygiene/health or relevant field; OR Associate degree in relevant field of study with two years’ experience in related electric utility field operations; OR High School diploma/GED with four years in S&H administration, field experience or related electric utility field operations experience
- 2 years’ experience in S&H or electric utility operations experience
- Valid Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Instruct, advise, and assist in carrying out the Company’s safety and health, public safety, and S&H event prevention programs, policies and procedures
- Prepare and advise on the use of programs and materials for meetings and conferences in S&H event prevention
- Conduct observations of AEP personnel, tools, equipment and work practices to assure that safe and proper procedures are being observed
- Advise and assist in S&H event analysis and serve as a resource to any event analysis committee
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations governing safety and health
- Review and assist as needed with the location’s efforts to inspect contractors’ adherence to safety regulations
- Promote and enforce the Company’s S&H event Prevention and Safety and Health programs

- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and independence
