Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. May consider those with Associate’s with strong clinic leadership background if willing to obtain Bachelor’s degree within 4 years
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required for legacy staff (staff who were hired into or already in positions where requirements changed after the staff was hired)
- 2+ years nursing experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required
Responsibilities
- Leads operations and supports the delivery of care at multiple urgent care locations to ensure the delivery of efficient, safe, and compassionate patient care
- Collaborates with lead provider(s), Regional Manager, and directors in overall performance and management
- Manages both clinical and business operations
- Recruits, selects, and onboards high talent staff and providers
- Manages clinical and business staff performance
- Works with clinician leader to communicate and engage staff, leaders, and providers in key initiatives
- Ensures staff are appropriately trained and operating within scope and at the top of their licensure/role
- Ensures staff and providers have equipment, tools and resources to do their work
- Maintains an understanding of daily functions to ensure delivery on all accountabilities and tasks
- Identifies and communicates needs and/or changes that affect the work and escalates concerns as appropriate
- Analyzes and acts on employee engagement data
- Maintains a strong presence, demonstrating awareness and involvement in urgent care activities
- Role models poise, presence, positive change influence
- Communicates with and engages leaders and staff in key initiatives by sharing a clear, compelling vision that allows them to see their contribution and role in the work to ensure continuous improvement
- Works with staff and providers to develop and implement objectives for the provision of safe and effective patient care
- Evaluates the effectiveness of policies and procedures and makes recommendations for change
- Identifies and acts on opportunities to improve patient experience. Leads new patient experience initiatives
- Ensure staff and providers have knowledge of and access to patient experience feedback and initiatives
- Addresses site level patient concerns
- Represents Allina Health in the local community as appropriate
- Takes on-call responsibility for AHG urgent cares on rotation
- Partners with lead provider, Regional Manager and peers to develop, implement and evaluate patient care delivery processes
- Utilizes patient experience and feedback to inform improvements and immediate recovery as needed
- Empowers staff to resolve patient complaints and concerns and creates a culture of service recovery
- Supports an environment to achieve quality goals by identifying and removing barriers, communicating changes, and ensuring training and development of staff
- Leads and develops a culture of safety and focus on High Reliability Organization in collaboration with lead providers
- Ensures adherence to all safety, risk and compliance policies and procedures; Oversight of supervisors to ensure site is compliant with state regulations (hazardous waste, MNVFC, DME, etc.)
- Observes drills as appropriate to gauge level of preparedness and proactively address gaps
- Participates in site safety meetings, rounding, audits and events as appropriate
- Ensures any regulatory and accreditation expectations have been met
- Partners with the safety lead to conduct or observe drills, evaluate staff preparedness and proactively address gaps
- Collaborates with Primary Care clinic leadership on site based activities
- Shares best practices across Allina Health Group Urgent Care
- Models and promotes collaboration within urgent care and primary care
- Overcomes barriers, creates internal and external relationships to meet both company and community needs
- Ensures staff and key stakeholders are involved in timely communications and information sharing
- Provides oversight for the implementation of new programs and services at their location(s)
- Collaborates with leadership to plan, implement and manage operational initiatives and tactical plans, tracking operations performance against key performance indicators
- Reviews and analyzes dashboards and reporting templates to highlight performance, including variances
- Manages relationships with leaders, physicians, and external partners to gain confidence and engagement in strategic and operational initiatives
- Maintains an awareness of current community and national trends and data for clinical specialty, profession, and health care industry
- Accountable for management of urgent care financials, operating expenses, and productivity for sites of responsibility
- Reviews financial reports and tools to assess and problem solve to align operating expenses and productivity
- Collaborates with lead physician to manage provider productivity
- Other duties as assigned.

- Urgent care or emergency department experience
- 2+ years leadership/supervisory experience
