Requirements
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing from an ACEN accredited program, required
- Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than 1 year of experience
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- External candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years of related acute care experience
- External candidates must successfully complete a competency assessment provided by nursing education
- Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current Nurse Manager and the site CNO
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) license, required
- American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer
Responsibilities
- Utilize the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care
- Incorporate patient-family centered care principles
- Provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell policies and procedures
